In reply to Andrés Platarrueda Vanegas. Hi Andrés, thank you for reaching out. I didn't know that there was an official city tourist map of the inner city wall. For this particular part of the wall, it is quite simple: the Proefstraatpoort was located at the Calvariekapel on the Naamsestraat, while the Wolvenpoort was around Number 32 Schapenstraat. If you go there today, the southern walls of the Van Dalepark still marks the site of the city wall that used to link the two city gates. In the before/after photo above, you can clear see this wall (from the outside - extra muros).

Good morning, thank you so much for all the information about your project. I’m creating an illustrated map of Leuven, which includes a “artistic reconstruction” of the city walls. When trying to locate the Woolvenpoort and the route to the Proefstraatport, it doesn’t match the route on the official city tourist map. Is there a more accurate, current map of the reconstructed city walls?

Beste,

Mijn voorouders waarvan een groot aantal is gedoopt in de Sint Jacobskerk, zijn reeds vernoemd in Leuven tijdens de dertiende eeuw, hadden volgens Rietstap een familieschild waarop drie schelpen voorkomen
Kan dit te maken hebben met dit gasthuis voor pelgrims die naar Compestella gingen.
Bestaan daar registers over waarin ik namen kan opzoeken?
